About VVS Laxman
VVS Laxman is one of the most elegant batsmen ever to play for India, a wristy stroke-maker whose best innings came when the team needed him most. Born in Hyderabad in 1974, he was part of India’s celebrated batting “Fab Four” and earned the nickname “the God of the fourth innings” for his match-saving and match-winning knocks. Since retiring, he has shaped the next generation as head of cricket at the National Cricket Academy.

Laxman’s 281 against Australia at Kolkata in 2001, after India had been forced to follow on, is regarded as one of the greatest Test innings ever played.
